Sections

The Obesity Society supports any group of members with similar interests, expertise or educational backgrounds that work together to develop goals which advance the Society's strategic plan. These groups are known as Sections and are self-defined, and share a common interest. Sections develop their own leadership and represent the interests of the group before the organization as a whole.

Members of The Obesity Society may join any Section and participate in the Section activities which are developed during the annual meeting and held throughout the year.

Please click on the Section titles below to learn more about each groups leadership, goals, resources and how to join:

Bariatric Surgery Section

The purpose of the Bariatric Surgery Section is to advance the science of bariatric surgery and the clinical management of the bariatric surgery patient utilizing a multidisciplinary approach.

Clinical Management of Obesity Section

The purpose of the Clinical Management of Obesity Section is to form a collective group of practicing clinicians to improve our presence within The Obesity Society and the medical community, to help with common problems faced by practicing clinicians, and lastly to promote good ethical treatment of the overweight patient by all practicing clinicians.

Diversity Section
