Obesity Prevention Program, Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention, Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care(posted 03/17/08) The Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention (DACP), a joint academic department of Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, invites applications for the position of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Ambulatory Care and Prevention. The mission of DACP’s Obesity Prevention Program is to lessen the burden of obesity-related disorders by conducting health services, epidemiologic, and intervention research studies within defined populations of children and adults. DACP seeks faculty members to strengthen its ongoing collaborative research in one or both of the following core areas of the Program:
Candidates should have a doctoral degree—MD, PhD, or equivalent—and experience in one or more of the following research areas: health services, epidemiology, behavioral sciences, nutrition, physical activity, or related fields. DACP offers a supportive and collaborative environment, and actively encourages applications from women and minorities. While these faculty positions are primarily research-oriented, DACP faculty members are expected to participate in teaching at Harvard Medical School, and clinicians have opportunities to practice part time.
