Comprehensive hospital services are provided at both SJH Elmer Hospital in Elmer, NJ and the SJH Regional Medical Center, a 262-bed, state-of-the art hospital located in Vineland. A satellite emergency department located at the SJH Bridgeton Health Center serves patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Garden Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is an affiliated program of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ School of Osteopathic Medicine and is part of the Education Department of South Jersey Healthcare. Garden AHEC works to improve the delivery of healthcare services through high-quality, certified, innovative and cost-effective educational offerings that focus on the identified needs of health providers and the communities they serve.

Responsiblities:

Plan, develop and coordinate special events, programs, projects and other educational offerings on Childhood Obesity topics
Develop partnership to highlight the issue of Childhood Obesity and promote healthy family lifestyles
Assist Garden AHEC Director on Special Childhood Obesity projects
This position’s office is based out of Bridgeton; however, you may visit the RMC as well as grade schools/middle schools in both areas

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree
2+ years in public health, education, marketing and/or healthcare preferred
Experience in event planning and meeting facilitation
Assessment design and program evaluation experience preferred
Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and electronic layout and design programs
Marketing and budget management experience a plus
Background in nutrition and/or health education with experience in facilitating community programs related to healthy lifestyles is an asset
