Position: The Healthy Eating and Activity Laboratory in the Department of Nutrition at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (http://heal.utk.edu) invites applications to fill a post-doctoral research position.
This post-doctoral position will involve participation in the conduct of currently funded (NIH) research on the influence of a dietary prescription on long-term weight loss during a behavioral obesity treatment trial in adults. This collaborative research includes nutrition scientists and behavioral psychologists.
The fellow will receive training in conducting randomized controlled trials, delivering behavioral interventions, and human laboratory research in the broad areas of eating and obesity. The fellow will be expected to publish mentored scientific papers and present findings at national research meetings.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Nutrition, Public Health, Exercise Science, or Psychology and human research experience. Candidates must have excellent communication and writing skills, be self-motivated, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team. Experience and publications in one or more of the areas of obesity or dietary intake will result in special consideration. The position is for 2 years with the 2nd year based on mutual agreement.
The stipend is commensurate with NIH standards based on education and experience.
