Position AvailablePost-Doctoral FellowWake Forest University School of Medicine Winston-Salem, NC(posted 7/1/2009) A Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position (2-3 years) is available in the Section on Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine to study the effects of exercise training and dietary interventions on in vitro and in vivo metabolic and functional characteristics of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, as they relate to clinical measures of physical function and disease risk in the elderly. The research focus is on the translational integration of basic, biological, and physiological mechanisms with clinical, behavioral intervention trials. Applicants must have prior exposure to laboratory work, received a Ph.D., an M.D., or a comparable doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution, and must be interested in pursuing an academic research career involving laboratory-based, clinical investigation. The applicant will work in tandem with Drs. Osvaldo Delbono and Barbara Nicklas. Full-Time. Salary is commensurate with experience according to NIH stipend levels.
