Position AvailablePostdoctoral Psychology AssociateDepartment of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine New Haven, CT(posted 9/01/2009) The Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for Postdoctoral Psychology Associates to participate in treatment studies for binge eating and obesity as well as in diverse clinical- and community-based studies of eating- and weight-related problems. The successful candidates will work closely with faculty (Drs. Grilo, Masheb, & White) and other postdoctoral clinical-researchers in the Program for Obesity, Weight, and Eating Research (POWER) at Yale directed by Dr. Carlos Grilo. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, including completion of an APPIC-approved internship, and experience in working with obese and/or eating-disordered patients including cognitive-behavioral therapy or behavioral weight loss interventions. Experience with diverse assessment methods (e.g., semi-structured diagnostic interviews), good statistical skills, and good writing skills (publications) are required. The positions are supported by grants from the NIH and Research Foundations and follow NIH-levels for post-doc stipends. The positions meet requirements for psychology licensure, are tailor-made for competitive application for the NIH loan repayment program, and are ideal for persons interested in pursuing clinical-research careers. Extensive (and mentored) opportunities exist for publication and grant-writing. Full-Time.
