The Center for Physical Activity and Weight Management, has locations in Lawrence and Kansas City, and supports research, training, and outreach programs for weight loss and weight maintenance for children and adults. The Center is currently following over 500 participants enrolled in the Weight Control Research Project that is designed to provide weight loss and weight maintenance for adults. The Center also has 9 funded projects from the National Institutes of Health to investigate exercise, nutrition, prevention of obesity and weight loss in both adults and children and several industry sponsored programs that investigate nutritional manipulations on energy balance and body composition. The Center currently has the following positions open: post-doctoral researched (0062363) and graduate research assistant (MS, Ph.D.). Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
