| Student's Corner - Tips from the Professionals |
 |
|
This month's issue of the NAASO newsletter sees the
launch of a new section designed to provide career
guidance for graduate students and post-docs. Tips
from the Professionals will comprise pieces written
by different senior scientists. Each article will aim to
provide an expert's opinion on how best to facilitate
progression in your career. The focus of the articles will
alternate between industry and academia.
The first article in the series, which focuses on what to
do and what not to do during preparation and interview
for a job in a large genomics company, is written by
Alan Schafer PhD, a senior biotechnology consultant
from Cambridge, England. Alan works as an independent
consultant primarily serving venture capital firms and
early stage biotechnology companies.
Special thanks to Dr. Schafer for taking the time to
provide this informative piece and for being our very
first "professional."
