NAASO Forms Anti-Weight Discrimination Task Force

An Anti-Weight Discrimination Task Force is being formed to give NAASO a vehicle for taking a stand on and responding to incidents of weight discrimination. The Task Force will be co-chaired by NAASO members Marlene Schwartz and Carol Johnson. Other Task Force members are being appointed by NAASO President Barbara Corkey.

A Task Force meeting will be held during Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. The Task Force will be preparing an anti-discrimination platform, which will contain an anti-discrimination pledge and a description of NAASO-sponsored activities aimed at combating weight discrimination.

If you have ideas for the Task Force or matters you feel the Task Force should address, we welcome your input. Please email either Marlene or Carol at: Marlene.Schwartz@yale.edu or cjohnson@planningcouncil.org
